Fresh Escapes are a newcomer to the Westcountry holiday home sector: their vibe is staycation with a comfortable hotel feel in a real home. I have been working with co-founders and husband-and-wife team James and Fiona Gardner for a couple of years and have been honoured to help their business grow from a little-known agency to winning the ‘One to Watch’ category at the inaugural Exeter Property Awards in 2021.

Fresh Escapes select homes with beautiful interiors, stunning sea views and ravishing landscapes – homestays that enable you to escape the ordinary and experience the extraordinary. They hire professional photographers to capture the essence of each home and understand the value of having rich, descriptive copy to paint just as vivid a picture with words. There is a true art to writing a great property listing description and so Fiona and James hired me as the copywriter to take on the task.

As Fresh Escapes grew, the team revamped their website, bringing me in to create new web copy that would captivate, compel and sell. Using my brand messaging and tone of voice questionnaire, I used strategic storytelling to tease out Fresh Escape’s unique tone of voice – friendly, welcoming and innovative – and their USP of transforming ordinary properties into extraordinary homestays.
